The ATS Tunnel Systems, Operation and Maintenance group (ATS-SOM) is a national subgroup of the ATS, formed of representatives from the various ATS chapters interested in Tunnel Systems, and the operation and maintenance of tunnels. Since its formation in 2021, the group has grown to incorporate a diverse committee of consultants, vendors and constructors from the infrastructure, water and resources sectors.
The ATS-SOM group’s mission is to:
- Demonstrate the importance of Tunnel Systems, Operation & Maintenance in the life cycle of tunnel projects.
- Showcase the research, innovations and expertise of the Australian Tunnel Systems, Operation & Maintenance community.
- Attract a more technically diverse member base to the ATS community.
- Reinforce the message that the ATS is more than excavation and tunnel lining.
- Develop relationships with industry groups within Tunnel Systems, Operation & Maintenance.
