Alex counts with +33 years’ experience in the design and construction of tunnel and underground works, having been involved globally in projects for subway and railway systems, road tunnels, mining, and hydropower plant projects.
Currently, Alex serves as Chief Technical Principal Tunnels with SMEC, where he provides technical leadership and governance to major tunnel projects.
Alex has held several leadership positions in institutions such as the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA), where he served as Vice-President. He is actively involved in educational and training activities to engineers worldwide and has published multiple technical papers and articles.
Alex will be presenting on Tunnel Design for Hydropower on Thursday 28 November at 8:45am.
