In March 2020 the New Zealand Tunnelling Society released “Geotechnical Baseline Reports: A Guide for New Zealand Practitioners”. Geotechnical Baseline Reports or GBRs have been used for over two decades in the New Zealand market. The intent of the NZTS initiative was to provide broad advice to practitioners in New Zealand and thereby improve risk management practices for procuring underground projects and subsequently assist in their administration.
